Rain and growth: bring out the mower
Lots of rain and suddenly everything is growing like crazy. I mowed for the first time since March?
Various photos for the record. Need to eat those salad leaves...

The Chelsea Chop
We knew we should be cutting back the sedum at this time of year but couldn't bear it. But saint Monty of Don did it on the BBC so we copied. We also hope to get a few cuttings from it. Stupidly I had no pots around when I snipped, so casually used a somewhat shallow spare pot tray. This was pointed out to not be a long term solution, so they are now in proper pots.

Rain and Sun
Amazing growing conditions today with showers and Sun combining to make warm wet soil. I took this opportunity to plant out the corn. (This is the second batch with fresh seed, only one of the first batch germinated.)
I'm guessing we'll struggle to get full cobs as we were late planting, but I remain optimistic!

Rain!
The story of this year is the complete lack of rain. I've been told that before today we've had 10mm in three months, and the parched earth has made the Today programme.
Today, we finally got rain. A big thunderstorm threw about 20mm down. The garden looks wet for the first time in ages.
How long will it last?
